Parents, carers and the community

As a parent or carer, you are an important part of our school community. We offer a range of services to support you and your family.

Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C)

Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising.

Macintyre High School has an active P&C Association which is affiliated with the approved state body.

Current meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at a new time slot of 6.00pm. Our meetings are pleasantly informal and run for less than an hour and half.

What is a P & C Association?

A Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is a group of community minded parents and citizens who assist the school in providing a means of uniting the school community, enhancing the quality of relationships and channels of communication between teachers, parents and the students.

Role of P & C Association member

The P&C Association is here to work with the school community in a productive partnership to achieve the best possible outcomes for the students and school. Parents can encourage closer co-operation between the parents of students, other members of the community, staff and students of the school. By giving and providing advice and recommendations on issues and concerns in respect of the students and general operations and management of the school parents and interested community members will be taking a pro-active role in the success of the school and its students.

P & C representatives are valued volunteers of the school community and their time and commitment are very much appreciated by all members of the school community.

Interpreting and translations

We will help you communicate with our school. If you’d like an interpreter for a school meeting, let us know and we will arrange one, if available.

If you don’t speak or understand English well and want to contact us, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language. The operator will call the school and get an interpreter to help. This service is free.
